The Event Manager allows you to create, organize, and visualize events that may impact hotel demand. Events can include festivals, concerts, conferences, local happenings, holidays, or any activity that influences pickup, occupancy, or pricing strategy.

The Event Manager provides two powerful calendar views — Year View and Month View — helping you plan ahead and make informed revenue decisions.

1. Create New Event

Click the Create New button to open the event creation form.

  • Event Name: The name of the event (e.g., “New Year’s Eve”, “Marathon Weekend”).
  • Date: Select the start and end dates for the event.
  • Level of Strength*: A slider that defines the projected demand impact of the event (0–100%).
  • Description: Add notes or extra details about the event.
    Once all required fields are filled, click Save to create the event.

2. Upcoming Events Panel

Click the Upcoming Events button to view a list of all upcoming events.

Each event card displays:

  • Event Name
  • Event Date Range
  • Edit icon (to modify the event)
  • This panel helps you quickly manage and update event information without navigating the full calendar.
3. Calendar Views

The Event Manager includes two views:

  • Year View (12-month overview)
  • Month View (detailed monthly calendar)
    You can switch between views using the toggle on the top-right corner.

3.1 Year View

The Year View provides a 12-month, high-level visual layout of your events.

Features:

  • Each row represents a month.

  • Each column represents a day of the month.
  • Events appear as green blocks spanning their date range.
  • Navigation arrows allow you to switch between years.
  • Useful for long-term planning, spotting overlaps, and tracking high-impact periods.

Use Cases:

  • Identify periods with multiple events.
  • Track compression seasons.
  • Plan rate strategies months in advance.
  • Anticipate pickup spikes around major events.

3.2 Month View

The Month View displays a traditional calendar layout for a single month.

Features:

  • Clear grid layout showing day-by-day event placements.
  • Events appear as green bars across their dates.
  • Navigation arrows allow you to switch between months.
  • Great for weekly operation planning and daily pricing adjustments.

Use Cases:

  • Checking event overlaps in detail.
  • Preparing for event-driven demand day-by-day.
  • Coordinating with F&B, front office, and housekeeping teams for upcoming event periods.

4. Event Color Coding

Events are shown as green bars, indicating:

  • Event duration
  • Event overlap with other dates
  • Strength levels (lighter green for lower strength, darker green for stronger impact)
