The Booking Window Analysis page helps you understand how far in advance guests are booking their stays. It gives a clear picture of your average lead time and how booking behavior changes across days and market segments.

1. Overview

This page is designed to help you answer questions like:

  • How early do guests usually book before arrival?
  • Are most bookings made last minute or well in advance?
  • Which days or guest types tend to book earlier or later?
By studying this data, you can better plan promotions, rate adjustments, and room availability.

2. Avg Lead Time

At the top of the page, you’ll see a donut chart showing the average lead time the number of days between booking and arrival.

For example:

  • 65 days average means guests, on average, book around 65 days before they arrive.
Below the chart, you’ll find a breakdown of bookings by lead time ranges:

  • Day of Arrival: Guests who booked on the same day they checked in.

  • 1–3 Days: Last-minute bookings made within 3 days.

  • 4–7 Days: Short-term advance bookings.

  • 8–14 Days, 15–30 Days, 31–90 Days, and 91+ Days: Longer lead times showing how early guests plan their stays.
This gives you a complete picture of how far in advance most guests book.

3. Avg Lead Time by Day of Week (DoW)

The bar chart on the right compares the average lead time for each day of the week.

For example:

  • If Thursday shows higher lead time, it means guests who check in on Thursdays usually book earlier.
  • Lower bars mean bookings are made closer to arrival.

This helps you understand which days tend to attract early planners versus last-minute guests.

4. Avg Lead Time by Market Group

The next section shows a bar chart that breaks down booking patterns by market group.

Here you can see how different guest categories (like Retail, Corporate, OTA, etc.) behave:

  • Some groups book far in advance (e.g., 31–90 days).
  • Others might make last-minute reservations (e.g., 1–3 days).

This insight helps tailor marketing campaigns and pricing strategies for different guest segments.

5. Date Range Filter

At the top of the page, you can select a custom date range (for example, 10/08/2025 – 11/07/2025) to analyze booking trends for a specific period.

It allows you to monitor changes in lead times based on seasons, promotions, or special events.
