The Hotelitix apprAIse room configuration should match that of your Property Management System (PMS). If your room types are not already created, begin by adding all room types to your account. 

To add or edit room type details head to the left-side menu bar and click Settings then select Room Types from the secondary menu options. 

Add a room type by clicking the Create new room type button.

Room Type - Enter the room type name or description for the room.

# of Rooms - Enter the number of units of this type that are physically available in the property.

Rack Rate - Enter the highest sell rate for this room type.

Room Differential - Allows users to offset the base room rate calculation for the room type to differentiate or create price gaps between standard rooms and premium rooms. Choose from:

  • Keep same as Base: Generally used for the least expensive or most standard room category also called the Lead Room.

  • Adjust by Amount: Select this option if you wish to increase/decrease the value of this room type from the base room rate applying a fixed amount. 
    For example, if base room rate is $150, enter 20 to increase this room rate by $20 to $170.00.

  • Adjust by Percentage: Select this option if you wish to increase/decrease the value of this room type from the base room rate applying a percentage value. 
    For example, if base room rate is $150, enter 25 to increase this room rate by 25% to $187.50.

  • Adjust by Amount then Percentage: Apply an amount difference first and then apply a percentage.

  • Adjust by Percentage then Amount: Apply a percentage difference first and then apply an amount. 


Edit Room Type Details

The process to edit room type details is similar to the above. However, instead of clicking the 'Create new room type' button, you will click on the room type you wish to edit from the Room Type List table. A popup widow will open, allowing you to modify the details. 

Sorting Order of Room Types

You can click and drag any room type on the Room Type List table to change the order in which they are displayed across Hotelitix apprAIse pages. The first room type will be tagged as your Lead room and will be used as the basis for various rate management features.
